We are a small but ethical business. We pay our few suppliers a fair rate in a timely fashion, complying not only with local minimum wage laws but with a fair rate for the job. For both employees and freelancers, terms and scope of work are freely negotiated, clearly defined and documented.
We work only with clients that conduct their businesses with integrity, openness and respect for universal human rights and core labour principles.
We deliver our services on time, within budget and to a high standard, and in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
We aim to improve the lives of the communities we operate within while minimising our environmental impact through activities including offsetting travel, recycling, minimising energy use and purchasing recycled or secondhand goods. We promote the land rights of communities, including indigenous communities, in our writing practice where applicable.
We utterly reject forced labour, child labour and other forms of exploitation, pay well above minimum wage for the jurisdiction, and ensure reasonable working hours. All workers are free to join unions or engage in collective bargaining should they wish – and may also choose not to join a union. We encourage healthy and safe working, in particular for our writers to exercise regularly, eat well and rest their eyes.
We operate with integrity and honesty, and treat intellectual property rights, copyrights and confidential business information with respect. We safeguard these in accordance with the applicable laws and contracts, and respect data laws and individual privacy when conducting research. We accurately record our financial data, eschew money laundering and insider trading, and pay our taxes.
We treat all workers, whether freelance or employees, fairly and with dignity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation or military status in any of our activities or operations. All workers are free to report concerns without fear of retaliation under relevant UK law: see here for more information.
We are committed to conducting all of our business in an honest and ethical manner: we disclose any conflicts of interest. Our staff and representatives do not make, solicit or receive any bribes or unauthorised payments, while gifts and hospitality are kept reasonable in nature.
Through a process of continuous improvement, we aim to enhance both our skills and our contribution to the planet we share.
